Elderberry extract is the fruit of Sambucus nigra L., a plant belonging to the family Lonicerae. It is used as medicine from the whole plant, harvested in summer and autumn, and dried in the sun. It has the effects of dispelling wind and dampness, promoting blood circulation, and stopping bleeding. Elderberry, also known as: poke tree, capsule tree, fair old tree, big leaf elderberry, big leaf capsule y, Shujin tree, camphor tree.
