It is produced by hydrogenation of cholic acid extracted from animal bile. It is a semi-synthetic bile acid from cholic acid. It is a white loose powder; it is odorless and has a bitter taste.
Mp 231-242ºC, melting distance within 3ºC.
It is slightly soluble in chloro-form, slightly soluble in ethanol, and almost insoluble in water.

This product is good for bile and promotes bile secretion. It can stimulate liver cells to secrete a large amount of bile with low specific gravity and low viscosity, and promote the drainage of bile, which is beneficial to the bacteria, inflammatory products, toxins, bile sand and small stones in the biliary tract and gallbladder. Exhaust plays the role of flushing and cleaning the biliary system.
